Sarah's Carnival Stars 2025

Formally Otley Carnival Stars, Sarah's Stars were re-named in memory of Sarah Jackson who was a passionate member of the Carnival Committee and instrumental in the inaugural Carnival STARS programme.
WHAT DO SARAH'S STARS DO?
Sarah's STARS are a group of children from across all schools in Otley and Askwith who will have the opportunity to contribute to their local community under the themes of Equality & Diversity, Health & Wellbeing, Environment, and Community through lots of voluntary events for groups like:
-
Otley Action for Older People
-
Friends of Otley Chevin
-
Homeless Hampers
-
Prickly Pigs Hedgehog Rescue
-
Otley Town Council
Benefits of being a STAR include participation in various activities throughout the year and the chance to ride on the STARS float during the carnival procession. Additionally, STARS will be involved in events at the showground after the procession.
Activities will be planned between April 2025 and February 2026 and we encourage STARS to attend as many events as possible which run on a weekend and in the school holidays. All activities will be voluntary and facilitated by the Otley Carnival Committee, however adult supervision is essential.
ARE YOU A VOLUNTARY ORGANISATION IN NEED OF HELP?
If you are part of a voluntary organisation who would like help and support with activities and initiatives that work in and around the Otley area, the Carnival Committee and STARS would love to help. Please email info@otleycarnival.co.uk to tell us more about your work and how we can help.
