WHAT ARE THE CARNIVAL STARS?

The Carnival STARS are a group of children from across all schools in Otley and Askwith who will have the opportunity to contribute to their local community under the themes of Equality & Diversity, Health & Wellbeing, Environment, and Community through lots of voluntary events for groups like:

​

• Otley Action for Older People

• Friends of Otley Chevin

• Homeless Hampers

• Prickly Pigs Hedgehog Rescue

• Otley Town Council

 

Benefits of being a Carnival STAR include participation in various activities throughout the year and the chance to ride on the Otley STARS float during the carnival procession. Additionally, STARS will be involved in events at the showground after the procession.

 

Activities will be planned between April 2024 and February 2025 and we encourage STARS to attend as many events as possible which run on a weekend and in the school holidays. All activities will be voluntary and facilitated by the Otley Carnival Committee, however adult supervision is essential.
